Hotel Betón

Hotel complex including conference area and top floor spa in central Gothenburg. The ambition for this imaginary project was to create a concept where concrete, with its calming characteristics, help slow down the pace of the hectic urban lifestyle. This by using the material's soothing abilities to the fullest; untreated walls and floors in soft contrast, same goes with the patterned exterior facade. Interior materials such as oak, linen and cotton give it a softer feeling in contrast to the coolness of brutalism. A robust structure, with a blank canvas for tourists, conference visitors and wine lovers to fill with laughter, stories and life.

Site plan. The existing trees around the hotel were prioritised to stay untouched due to their contribution to the local biodiversity.
